Cross-country and backcountry skiing around Ranua

Ranua and Impiö have trails for classic and skating techniques, including illuminated routes and campfire stops. For skiing away from prepared tracks, guests can use the backcountry skis at Mökki Tikka.

Backcountry skis at the cabin

Two pairs of OAC backcountry skis are available free of charge. They are intended for experienced skiers who want to explore outside the prepared tracks, starting from the property into the surrounding forest. Lake routes depend on safe ice conditions.

Juha Impiö and the Impiö trail

Juha prepares the classic and skating tracks in Impiö. The illuminated circuit is 2.1 km long and has a campfire site and a kota hut. On request, he can also prepare a track to the house. He does not rent skis himself.

Equipment and winter clothing at Ranua Resort

Ranua Resort offers classic skis, skating skis, snowshoes, fatbikes and winter clothing for hire. Collection is at the resort beside Ranua Wildlife Park.
