The people behind Mökki Tikka
We are Alexandra and Stefano from Switzerland, and we have three grown-up sons. For many years we have spent our free time in northern Europe. Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Ireland and Scotland have drawn us back through their open landscapes, nature and quiet.
Our interest in wildlife led us to take basic ornithology training. For us, birdwatching is a way of paying attention to our surroundings and slowing down.
We had wanted a retreat in the north for a long time. Mökki Tikka has become a place close to our hearts, where we can rest and regain energy. We hope our guests can experience that too.
We would like everyone who stays here to enjoy nature thoughtfully, step away from everyday routines and perhaps find more time for what matters to them.
When we are not in Ranua, we often travel through the Swiss mountains in our camper, explore new regions or spend time outdoors hiking.
Meeting local people has been especially meaningful to us. The openness and warmth of families in Impiö and Ranua have made us feel welcome and strengthened our connection to this place.
