Pentik began in Posio in 1971, when Anu Pentik turned her enthusiasm for ceramics and leatherwork into a business. A small studio grew into a design company known for rounded forms and craftsmanship. The ceramics factory in Posio opened in 1974.
Design inspired by the North
Organic shapes, warm colours and a handmade appearance connect Pentik’s designs with Nordic nature. Floral and animal motifs, alongside geometric patterns, bring that influence into everyday objects. Designers associated with the brand include Lasse Kovanen and Minna Niskakangas.
Making things to last
The factory in Posio remains central to Pentik’s ceramic production. For us, part of the appeal is this connection between design, skilled making and the place where the company began.
